Successful 2008
The Fourth Annual Walt Kruger Memorial Golf Tournament was another successful event. Although the tournament was not immune to the slow economy and suffered its smallest field to date, the tournament was able to raise a total of $13,245 thru the generosity of all of our patrons and participants. These funds were donated in Walt's honor to the Walt Kruger Memorial Fund. Multiple scholarships to local Northland schools are being offered to current Cirrus Design employees or to their children who wish to follow in Walt's footsteps by pursuing careers supporting general aviation. The current recipient of the underclassman scholarship is Dan Peterson who works as an instructor in the Outside Training group. Dan is currently attending the University of North Dakota in pursuit of his BA degree with an emphasis in Aviation Management. The upperclassman scholarships were awarded to Dan Boyum, an intern with the M&P Engineering department, who is attending Winona State in pursuit of a Material Science degree and Erik Carlson, a member of the Structural Test Group, who is pursuing his Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of Minnesota-Duluth
2009 Sponsorship Opportunities
The Walt Kruger Memorial Golf Tournament is soliciting donations for the scholarship fund. Direct cash or in-kind product donations will be gratefully accepted. Below is a breakdown of donations and associated advertising and benefits provided by the scholarship committee:
Level 1 - Cash or Product donation under $250
The level 1 contribution will be added to the scholarship fund and your company logo will be added to the tournament web site.
Level 2 - Cash or Product donation $250 and above
The level 2 donation entitles your company logo to be posted on a tee box during the tournament. The tournament staff will handle all actions / expenses associated with the signs upon receipt of your company artwork in .jpeg format. Your company logo will also be added to the tournament web site as with level 2 contributions.
Level 3 - Cash or Product donation $500 and above
The level 3 donation entitles your company to complimentary foursome of golf at the tournament plus all the advertising benefits of Levels 1 and 2.
Level 4 - Cash or Product donation $1000 and above
The level 4 donation entitles your company to all the benefits of Levels 1, 2, and 3, plus a $100 prize will be awarded on behalf of our company. The offering may either be your company product or a prize hand selected and purchased by our staff.
Level 5 - Platinum Contributor – Cash or Product donation $2500 and above
The level 5 donation entitles your company to all the benefits of Levels 1, 2, 3 and 4, plus a commemorative award will be presented to your company in honor of your generosity.
Charitable donations can be made in cash, company product, or gift certificates.
